ACM donates 15 tons of food and medicine

ACM Gabon.

Alpha Centauri Mining SA (ACM) CEO Anand Bajla donated more than 15 tons of food to over 500 families on April 25th to the people of the commune of Ndjolé in Moyen-Ogooué province to help them cope with the partial lockdown resulting from the Covid-19 health crisis.
In addition to the food, the benefactor also donated 5 million CFA francs worth of medicines to the Ndjolé Medical Center (CMN), which will be transmitted in the coming days and officially presented to the regional representative of the Ministry of Health. This is the response of a civic-minded society to the call for Sacred Union and solidarity launched by President Ali Bongo Ondimba on March 18th to combat the Coronavirus in the country. The donation of food worth more than 13 million CFA francs was overseen by a committee chaired by Anand Bajla and the Minister of Relations with Constitutional Institutions, Denise Mekam’ne. The distribution of this donation was carried out by the teams of the two personalities who traveled through the 16 neighborhoods of the city of Ndjolé (central part of the country) to meet disadvantaged populations. The launch of this humanitarian and social caravan took place in the Missanga Saint-Jean neighborhood in the presence of the prefect, Mathurin Kabogui Olouri. In total, ACM will have committed nearly 18 million CFA francs during this charitable operation for the benefit of the residents of Ndjolé. Each family received a total of 30 kilos of food products, including cans of sardines, salt, oil, tomato puree, rice, mackerel, condensed milk, spaghetti, soap bars, biscuits, and Maggi cubes. The affected neighborhoods are: Kilomètre Grand Village, Quartier Kilomètre, Mbilavion/Angouma, Missanga Nazareth, Missanga Saint-Jean, Bingoma Centre, Bingoma Sud, Kegha, T.P/Cité, Cariven-Ville, Nyankok-Mboune 1, Bingoma Nord, Nyankok-Mboune 2, Sorbonne, Makala, and Andock.
ACM’s social action is part of its corporate social responsibility policy towards the people of this locality, a region where the company has been operating for several years. This is also an opportunity for Alpha Centauri Mining S.A. to ease the burden on the population during this time of crisis and contribute to the national solidarity effort in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in Gabon.
In recognition of his support to the relevant authorities and the population, Mr. Anand Bajla thanked all the officials present at this meeting, particularly the Minister for her exceptional contribution to the achievement of this joint initiative.
