RGO – Gold Refinery

• Confirming to the vision and focus of the country to value-add to the primary production in Gabon, ACM in 2022 unveiled the first gold refinery in Gabon (also a first for Central Africa).
• The refinery has an annual capacity of 7 to 10 Mt of gold processing.
• Set up in the Special Economic Zone at Nkok in Libreville, the state-of-the-art refinery, based on Italian technology, has zero emissions and 100% acid recovery.
• In May 2023, given the strategic importance of the sector to the country, the state acquired 51% of this refinery.
• The refinery is now renamed “RAFFINERIES GABONAISE DE L’OR” and has the primary objectives of:
  • Refining 100% of the gold produced in Gabon and neighboring countries.
  • Striving for excellence in service to our customers and making Gabon a hub for gold refining in Central Africa.
  • Bringing traceability to this growing sector and thereby bringing sustainability to the industry.
  • Through quality certificates, bringing greater transparency to customers of gold in Gabon.

Soon, we aspire to cater to the consumer and institutional markets with jewelry and gold coins.
