Alpha Centauri Mining (ACM) - Key Milestones and Achievements
- Alpha Centauri Mining (ACM) was incorporated in Gabon in 2016, primarily focusing on gold exploration and exploitation, while also monitoring associated metals. The company focuses on two aspects: quick cash flows and sustainable growth through scientific research and development, keeping a close eye on the surrounding environment and communities.
- In 2016, ACM was granted three semi-industrial gold mining permits, each with an initial validity of five years, following the completion of all legal requirements.
- ACM engaged world-class consulting firms and acquired state-of-the-art mining and processing units from the USA. A Mining Convention with the State was formalized, followed by a pilot mining and processing phase, and the first gold export in 2018.
- Between 2018–2019, ACM focused on stabilizing gold operations and supporting local artisanal miners through agreements with the National Mining Company.
- In the first quarter of 2020, ACM was granted the Mboumi exploration license for gold, covering 803 sq km. A comprehensive geological program was initiated on the Mboumi license, designed by SRK Services. As of now, scout drilling is underway for primary gold.
- Seven semi-industrial gold exploitation permits were awarded in the last quarter of 2020 within the Mboumi permit.
- The exploration permit was renewed by the state in 2023, extending exploration for gold and manganese.
- In mid-2020, ACM launched the “Life After Mine” agro-forestry project for local community development, pledging an investment of approximately USD 2 million. The first free medical clinic was opened in Makala, near Ndjolé.
- ACM promoted the establishment of the first gold refinery in Central Africa. ACM currently holds 49% shares after the majority acquisition by the State National Mining Company of Gabon, converting the refinery into the national gold refinery of Gabon.
- In 2022, ACM was awarded the Minkébé permit covering 668 sq km for gold and connected metals. As of now, geological mapping is ongoing over 13 priority zones, airborne geophysics has been completed, 127 km of road access has been built, stream sediment sampling has been done, and drilling is set to commence. The permit was extended for iron exploration and renewed in 2025.
- Starting with a team of 12 employees in 2016, ACM expanded to a workforce of 400 individuals as of March 2025.
- ACM remains committed to sustainable mining practices, environmental responsibility, and local community development as core components of its business model.
